Business video platform provider Qumu announced a new product today, Qumu Video Platform, which combines Video Control Center 6.0 and VideoNet 2.0. The platform lets companies embed video in nearly any business application and manage their videos centrally.
Designed to adapt to varying needs, the Qumu Video Platform works with both live and on-demand video, and can serve video to mobile devices, including Apple iOS and Google Android phones and tablets. It also works with HTML5 browsers and integrates with SharePoint, WebSphere, Blackboard, and the TelePresence Content Server.
The platform also includes social features that allow for video sharing while still maintaining corporate security. Controls for enterprise security are automated. Employees also get simple tools for uploading media from their mobile devices.
“The Qumu Video Platform solves the mobile video challenge with support for the more than 30 format and resolution combinations for various mobile devices, enabling employees to watch videos on whatever device they choose,” says Ray Hood, CEO of Qumu. “Qumu’s developments in the area of adaptive streaming, content prepositioning, and the ability to automatically route streams based on device connection, are providing customers with real solutions to the associated network challenges with video.”
