Many of you know that weve been working hard on the SF.net beta interface and code (named Allura) for a while. We are happy to say that creating new projects now points to the Allura interface by default.

Our Allura code is cleaner and faster than our classic Forge, and its open source. So, if youre looking for a great project to work on, wed love to have you join our community!

Creating a Project in Allura

The Allura interface is different, but you will see similar functionality from our classic interface (and with a few extras thrown in, and with many more to come!). Tools can be enabled or disabled with a click, allowing project admins to fully customize their project space quickly and easily. Permissions are fine-tuned and you can create unlimited roles, giving project admins complete control over who is allowed to do what. And the look and feel of the different tools (such as the wiki and bug trackers, etc) is now clean and consistent, thus making for a much improved user experience.

We know change is hard, so for the time being, if you would prefer, you can still create a classic project. We only ask that you so we can make Allura better.

And of course, if you do have any other feedback about Allura, or anything else, please dont hesitate to contact us.
